Abstract submission to ICOS Science Conference extended due to COVID-19 pandemic – virtual event a possibility

SC2020

ICOS continues to prepare its ICOS Science Conference 2020 in September in the Netherlands, in the hopes that the virus situation develops favourably. Decision on whether the conference is face-to-face or online, will be made latest on the 11th of June.

Abstract submission is extended until 11th of May. Registration to the conference is closed for the time being to avoid unnecessary monetary transactions in case the conference will be organised online.

ICOS ERIC Head Office and the local organisers of the ICOS Science Conference 2020 closely follow the development of the Corona virus pandemic. We all hope that the situation has improved significantly by September, and want to keep open a possibility for the physical meeting on the 15th–17th of September in Utrecht, the Netherlands. In case that proves to be impossible, we will change to a virtual conference instead.

Abstract submission open until Monday 11th of May

Due to the current situation, the deadline to submit abstracts has been extended until Monday 11th of May 13:00 CEST. Please submit your abstract through ICOS webpages: www.icos-cp.eu/sc2020/abstract-submission

We welcome and encourage everyone to submit abstracts and are looking forward to a very exciting event, whether it will be in Utrecht or online!

Decisions regarding accepted abstracts and types of presentations (poster or oral) will be announced by email to the main author, and through the ICOS SC2020 webpages.

Registration to a physical Science Conference closed until Thursday 11th of June

Due to these uncertainties, the registration is closed until June 11th in order to avoid unnecessary monetary transactions in case the conference is virtual with very small or no fee. The decision on arranging a face-to-face or a virtual conference will be made before 11th of June, and it will be based on the submitted abstracts and on the virus situation.

“On behalf of the organisation team, I  wish all of you, your families and beloved ones: stay healthy and take care!” says ICOS Director General Werner Kutsch. “We are looking forward to welcoming you to the ICOS Science Conference 2020; either in person at the TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, or in cyberspace.”
