Paris-Romainville flux footprints

A collection of flux footprints for the Paris-Romainville flux-tower in France at 30-minute temporal resolution. Each dataset contains up to 48 footprints with the following variables each: Time, X, Y, Boundary Layer Height Quality Flag, and Footprint Climatology. The flux footprints are computed using FFP as described in Kljun et al. (2015), https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-8-3695-2015, at 10-meter spatial resolution. This work is part of the ICOS Cities/PAUL Pilot Applications in Urban Landscapes project. In this version, footprints have been calculated using the updated ETC NRT Flux dataset for Romainville from 12.11.2024, which was reprocessed to correct for an azimuth angle issue.


 

Zurich-Hardau flux footprints

A collection of flux footprints for the Zurich-Hardau flux-tower in Switzerland at 30-minute temporal resolution. Each dataset contains up to 48 footprints with the following variables each: Time, X, Y, Boundary Layer Height Quality Flag, and Footprint Climatology. The flux footprints are computed using FFP as described in Kljun et al. (2015), https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-8-3695-2015, at 10-meter spatial resolution. This work is part of the ICOS Cities/PAUL Pilot Applications in Urban Landscapes project.


 

Munich-Oberpostdirektion flux footprints

A collection of flux footprints for the Munich-Oberpostdirektion flux-tower in Germany at 30-minute temporal resolution. Each dataset contains up to 48 footprints with the following variables each: Time, X, Y, Boundary Layer Height Quality Flag, and Footprint Climatology. The flux footprints are computed using FFP as described in Kljun et al. (2015), https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-8-3695-2015, at 10-meter spatial resolution. This work is part of the ICOS Cities/PAUL Pilot Applications in Urban Landscapes project.

REA flux time series archive (L2), Hardau, 2022-07-14–2023-03-29

14C data based on measurements from a relaxed eddy accumulation (REA) flask sampling system operated at the Hardau II tall tower in Zurich, Switzerland (CH-Har) as part of the ICOS Cities project. This data archive contains a CSV file with all data and metadata recorded for the REA sampling periods (14C_REA_CH-Har.csv), as well as a CSV file containing only CO2 and Delta-14C flask concentrations, derived ffCO2 concentrations, ffCO2 fluxes and quality flags (14C_REA_CH-Har_short.csv). All variables are described in the included XLSX file (14C_REA_variable_description.xlsx). This dataset is part of ICOS-Cities deliverable D3.10.

14C data based on measurements from a relaxed eddy accumulation (REA) flask sampling system operated at the Romainville supersite in Paris, France (FR-Rmv) as part of the ICOS Cities project. This data archive contains a CSV file with all data and metadata recorded for the REA sampling periods (14C_REA_FR-Rmv.csv), as well as a CSV file containing only CO2 and Delta-14C flask concentrations, derived ffCO2 concentrations, ffCO2 fluxes and quality flags (14C_REA_FR-Rmv_short.csv). All variables are described in the included XLSX file (14C_REA_variable_description.xlsx). This dataset is part of ICOS-Cities deliverable D3.10.

Carbonyl sulfide (COS), carbon dioxide (CO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) eddy covariance fluxes (measured at the Hardau tall tower (CH-Har) in Zurich, Switzerland. The data are provided in monthly files, with 60 minute resolution. This dataset is part of the ICOS Cities deliverable D3.10.

This dataset includes the spatially resolved city-level biogenic model products for Munich with a grid resolution of 300 x 300 m2. The data covers annual gross primary production (GPP), soil and vegetation respiration (Rs) and the biogenic net ecosystem exchange (NEE) as simulated using the SUEWS model, for the period 2024-01-01 to 2024-12-31. The details of the modelling and the outputs are described in ICOS Cities deliverable D2.2.


 

Biogenic model results for Zurich

This dataset includes the spatially resolved city-level biogenic model products for Zurich with a grid resolution of 200 x 200 m2. The data covers annual gross primary production (GPP), soil and vegetation respiration (Rs) and the biogenic net ecosystem exchange (NEE) as simulated using the SUEWS model, for the period 2022-07-01 to 2023-06-30. The details of the modelling and the outputs are described in ICOS Cities deliverable D2.2.

Greenhouse gas observations from the metropolitan area of Barcelona by ICTA-UAB

This collection contains the hourly averaged greenhouse gas observation of CH4 and CO2 at four stations in the Barcelona metropolitan area, starting May 2021. These measurements are performed by ICTA-UAB in the framework of the ERC URBAG project (https://urbag.eu/) and are a contribution to the ICOS Cities (a.k.a PAUL) project (GA 101037319). Measurements are performed with Picarro CRDS instruments. Water vapor correction according to Rella et al., 2023. Daily target tank for drift detection. 4 point working standard calibration every 2-3 weeks. Working standards are calibrated using 6 NOAA secondary standards.

ICOS Cities 2024-12 release of low-cost CO2 data from the Munich network SCOUT

Munich's low-cost sensor network SCOUT (Street-level Carbon Observatory for Urban Territory) comprises 100 Decentlab DL-LP8 devices. They include a temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure sensor to complement the CO2 measurements. The sensors are strategically positioned at locations with different emission characteristics and partly co-located with air quality sensors, traffic detectors, and more precise CO2 sensors to assess data correlations and quality. An accuracy improvement of factor 5 to 10 compared to the manufacturer’s accuracy was achieved with our bias correction algorithm and individually trained sensor models. Additionally, we upgraded the systems with solar radiation shields to mitigate radiative heating effects and reduce temperature-induced sensor errors.
