ICOS Head Office is seeking a new Project Controller. The Administration Unit is carrying out the administrative and financial management of the ICOS research infrastructure, contract management and the procurement as well as financial management of the externally funded projects. The unit also supports human resources management, which is executed in the Director General Unit.

Project Controller

to join the Administration Unit team.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support financial management of projects, especially EU-funded ones
  • Assist with procurement processes
  • Monitor and report project costs
  • Manage time sheets, hourly rates, and personnel cost calculations
  • Maintain and update project time planning for Head Office staff
  • Submit reports via the EU portal
     

 Additional responsibilities may include

  • Contributing to other administration and finance tasks
  • Reviewing invoices, procurement documentation, and cost/travel claims
  • Supporting the development of internal admin and finance processes
  • Develop Excel macros for financial tasks
  • Participating in Head Office-wide activities, such as organizing team events

     

To be successful in this position, you will need

  • Degree in accounting or a related field (e.g. merkonomi, tradenomi, bachelor’s level)
  • Strong proficiency in English (working language at the office and EU reporting)
  • Motivation to learn and improve processes (e.g. reporting excels)
     

In addition, we view favourably

  • Experience with EU project reporting
  • Experience in accounting according to Finnish bookkeeping law
  • Finnish language skills
  • Ability to draft internal guidelines and documentation

We have a hybrid way of working; usually we work in the office in Kumpula on a weekly basis. Short periods of totally remote work (in another EU country) are possible. A work permit in an EU country is required. The work might require travelling within Europe, 1-2 times per year.

This a full-time, fixed-term position until December 31, 2026, located in the ICOS Head Office in Helsinki, Finland. The intended start date is 12 January 2026. The monthly salary range is 2900 – 3400 euros, based on qualifications and relevant experience. There is a five-month trial period. ICOS ERIC is an equal opportunity employer.
