Become the host of ICOS Science Conference 2028
The biennial ICOS Science Conference brings together the top scientists and decision-makers from around the world to discuss the latest scientific advancements in greenhouse gas science. Now ICOS is looking for a host for the 8th ICOS Science Conference, planned for mid-
September 2028.
The ideal host and location of the next conference would have:
- Location in a member or a prospective member country of the ICOS Research Infrastructure
- Location with easy access from all over Europe and beyond, and with a sufficient number of
accommodation options nearby for the conference attendees - An enthusiastic local organising team with a possibility to allocate time for conference
preparations (starting from spring 2027, more intensely in 2028 towards the conference date) - At least one venue option suitable for the next conference, which means:
- Capacity to host at least 800 attendees in the biggest presentation room, additional
capacity of at least three other parallel session rooms of 150-200 attendees each, in
addition to suitable space(s) for the poster sessions to host at least 400 on-site posters - Technical readiness (either in-house or via a subcontractor) to set up, livestream and
record a hybrid conference with both on-site and online presenters and attendees - Capabilities of organising the conference catering and the Vendor Expo with at least 15
exhibition booths in the premises
- Capacity to host at least 800 attendees in the biggest presentation room, additional
- Possibilities for organising excursions to ICOS stations or other interesting destinations.
