Observational data

The observational data come from the ICOS networks of Atmospheric, Terrestrial Ecosystem and Marine measurement stations, and include concentrations, fluxes, meteorological and environmental observables. The data sets are quality-controlled and (if needed) gap-filled time series, typically aggregated to hourly or half-hourly means.

Analysed data

These are typically output from models that use ICOS observations as input, including inverse. Important category for example “flux maps” illustrating how greenhouse gas emissions and uptake vary in time and space.

ICOS offers a number of different data products via the Carbon Portal. In addition, we also collaborate with other data centers and portals, to make ICOS-based information available to a wider audience.
